Today we got the phone call we’ve been waiting and waiting for.
YES, WE HAVE A DAUGHTER IN COLOMBIA!
Her name is Luisa. She is almost 21 months old – in fact, she and I (Katie) share a birthday: January 28.
Tears of joy and thankfulness have been flowing here all afternoon. :)
We don’t know too many more details just yet, other than we can expect to travel sometime in the next 6-10 weeks.
We will keep you posted!
We are amazed, thankful, joyful, in shock, and blissed out. Mostly, we are so overwhelmed by the great love and mercy of our God who has brought this precious little girl into our lives and into our family.

Hi Katie!
I stumbled across your blog tonight. My husband and I are looking to start the adoption process with Colombia in mind. It seems like you have had a pretty quick process. I was wondering if you have a chance to email me and let me know where to start. It would be so helpful to have any suggestions as we start sorting through all the agencies and such. Thank you and God bless!!

Hi. :) Congratulations! My husband just happened upon your blog today, as well. As a matter of fact, we are adopting from Columbia through Lutheran Social Services of Minnesota AND we used Loving Shepherd Ministries to get started. So, we were so excited to be able to see the journey of a family several steps ahead of us! We have just completed our homestudy and are awaiting the next step with LSSMN. I would love to get in contact sometime, but I know that you have a lot going on. Could you send me a quick email if you would be open to commucating a little regarding adoption from Columbia??? Thanks and God bless you in this process!
