A lot has happened since the last update. We have two big pieces of news that we’d like to share with you:
- We’re fully funded!
- We fly to Colombia on January 21st!
Just last Saturday, soon after our last post, we received the donation that brought us beyond our goal. And just on Thursday evening, we received word of our official departure date, January 21st.
We’ve hardly been able to wrap our heads around the fact that we’ve made it. That the Lord truly brought us here. After such a long journey, it may take us some time to come to grips with the fact that we’re close to getting our little girl. That she’ll soon be in our arms.
We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who’s helped us along the way. Many of you have bought goods, or flat out made donations, or held fundraising parties for us. It’s truly overwhelming to think of all the people who are connected to our family now and will be a part of our family history forever. We look forward to the day when we can begin to tell the story back to our daughters.
And so, for now we’ll begin preparing to leave in January. We have a bit more paperwork to do and we’ll be getting our travel visas, etc.
We’re going to keep the donation link up and the prints for sale for now. Already in our preparation we’ve run into some unexpected expenses, so we’d like to raise a little more to cover anything unexpected while we’re in Colombia. We won’t publicize it as much, but if you feel like contributing to that end, we’re grateful.
